PIKES PEAK PREP IS IN HIGH GEAR!

Team Tracy Motorsport has been hard at work prepping and testing for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb! Take a little peak behind the scenes with Tracy, in her own words.

June 6:

Left Johnson City on Monday around 4pm and got Into town here on Wednesday afternoon. First stop was straight to Mike Maroone Chevrolet North to meet the nice folks there who have graciously allowed us to keep my rig there and will be the home for my car during the next 2 weeks before race week!

I was fortunate to have the help of the Colorado Springs Corvette Club in getting this dealership’s help! Then was invited to speak at their monthly meeting last night and met some very nice folks. Felt like I was with “my people.". #comeforthecar #stayforthepeople

Today was the first day of testing in the lower section of Pikes Peak. We started very early and we were done by 0830 this morning. It went well with improvements in time but more importantly I am getting familiar with the course. That first run up felt very surreal….couldn’t believe I was actually driving at Pikes Peak in my car!!! Such an awesome feeling being there! Such a beautiful place!!

Tomorrow we go to the middle section and I’ll update more on that later.
Good night for now - we have to leave around 3am to get to the Gateway entrance around 4am!

Day 2 of testing update!!!

This morning we took on the middle section of Pikes Peak from Glen Cove up to Devils Playground for a climb up to 13,058 feet. Lots of steep inclines and switchbacks and we moved up out of the tree line today. I was ready for today!!! I have included a video of one of my runs and was getting a good rhythm by the end of practice. Cut significant time off and i’m pretty proud of that despite what sounds like a lifter noise. Not sure if we will run the upper section tomorrow as both Friday and today’s upper sections were cancelled due to snow and ice. Hopefully I can get one run In at the top and get the car where it needs to go to address its issues.

I also included some other pics of Pikes Peak and I am so enjoying my time here!!

I’ll update more tomorrow and more on the status of my car. Huge thanks to my crew for all the help out here!!
